On Tuesday 17th December 2002 all members of SOYGOM were invited to a meeting held at St. Yacoub to discuss the future of the group, this was followed by another meeting with other members of the community on Sunday 22nd December at St. Aphrem Church.

In general, the vast majority of members that attended the meetings agreed that they are proud of what SOYGOM has achieved in it's first year and would like the group to continue with its plans for the future. The members present were adamant that SOYGOM should remain as it is, that is run for and by the youth of the Syriac Orthodox Church. However it was agreed that the age restrictions would be relaxed and more effort would be put into involving other members of the community who are keen to help the youth.
